As 2016 comes to a close, journalists and media outlets are confronting the questions raised by this year’s election and planning for what comes next. James Geary, the deputy editor of the Nieman Foundation’s Nieman Reports Magazine, joins the NewsHour Weekend’s Christopher Booker to offer a post-election take on how the media can move forward.

Wow. It's certainly a good start to leave your comments open so folks can give you feedback.
    And thanks for asking too.
I would ask you to not only be factual, but also do more follow up.
And can you do some factual stories to expose the massive amount of pseudoscience around? To ignore things like the rip-off that is Homeopathy, the woo woo of Astrology, or the safety of Bio-technology ("gmo"), and more is truly doing your viewer a dis-service in the long run.
I would LOVE to see Myles do some thorough reporting on any one of these things.

All goes back to lack of education. If successive governments undermine the public education in favour of private education, the socio-economic divide will be greater as the years go by and a society comes to a grinding halt.

Liberals in the media need to stop being ashamed of being liberals ande take every opportunity to explain themselves rather than bending over backwards to give conservatives a platform to express blatantly wrong views and information.

Look. This is silly. Stop calling it fake news. It's propaganda and conspiracy theories. People who watch and believe Alex jones, and there are a lot, think the government it behind every mass shooting to justify coming in and taking their guns and throwing them in the NWO, FEMA concentration camp. A race of aliens (from space) in cohorts with Jews is trying to take over the world and form a secular, totalitarian government. And only trump and Alex jones can stop them. People who believe this aren't interested in journalistic ethics or fairness… they just believe in conspiracies and think the traditional news outlets are run by the Jews and secretly out to get them. You can't reason with people like that.

People without education used to respect those with. It's largely the right wing media that have undermined that. Trump even says he "likes" the uneducated; no surprise, since they're his duped constituency.

Wow snobs! Your vegetables and everything else is useless and makes you fat. And you wonder why you lost the election, condescending snobs If everybody else doesn't think like you, you label as uneducated and stupid , you are a bigot. We made up our mind, we educated ourselves on what we wanted and the vision we had for America, that's what we voted in, so get used to it. We are not like you and never will be. And stop using propaganda to try and tell people its fake news when in truth it's just not your news that you want to shape the masses with. Pathetic

Don't worry wikileaks was all over the internet, that's not the problem, the problem is hiding real news (facts) from certain people, and forcing your "religious thinking" on us, thinking you are right even before we made an opinion on the matter. Hannity and o reilly were the only real news shows out there if you follow "your explenation" logic.
ps: it's not because you have the name "foundation" on a golden plaque on the house that everything that leaves the house is at journalistic perfection.
ps2: alianating a hole section of potential viewers will not get you more views, the "uneducated white guys" just saved this country, stop the hate please, you lost us (normal thinking person) because you clearly did a bad job at reporting facts not to be confused with shoving your personal agenda through our throats.

    Kind regards
